  • Cook Time:
  • Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • (2 slices) bread
  • (2 tbsp) butter
  • (1/2) apple, sliced
  • (1 clove) garlic, chopped
  • (1/4 cup (or to your preference)) red onion, sliced
  • (4 slices) Bacon
  • (2 - 3 large slices (or to your liking - slice # dependent on block size)) cheese (your choice - we used cheddar and muenster)

Directions

Warm up with a tasty grilled cheese!

  1. Simply start by cooking the bacon in a skillet on medium heat. While bacon is heating, prep your apple, garlic, and onion.
  2. When bacon is nearly cooked, add in apple, garlic, and onion.
  3. While those are cooking (in the bacon grease), add just a little butter to one side of each slice of bread.
  4. When the apple, garlic, and onion are softened and just browning, and bacon is done, add one slice of bread, butter side down, into the skillet.
  5. Layer the cheese onto the bread so it covers the bottom.
  6. Add the apple, garlic, onion, and bacon to the top of the cheese.

  7. Add another slice of cheese for good measure.
  8. Add the second slice of bread, butter side out (so when you flip it, the butter will be in contact with the skillet).
  9. Heat over low-medium to ensure the cheese melts on the inside in conjunction with the bread.
  10. If the pan and bacon grease are too hot before you put the bread on, remove the skillet from the burner for a few minutes to let it cool. If you put the bread into a hot skillet, the outside will burn before the cheese on the inside melts.
  11. Slice and serve up alongside a nice green salad, and enjoy!
