May has come and is already almost gone, and the farm is feeling a bit weird. A bit off. Why?​ Well, some of the normal things that we expect this time of the year are here and keeping us plenty busy. Normal things like our farmers markets and calving season. Wanting to try a new cut of meat, but aren't sure where to start? There's so many different recipes out there, how do you know which one is the best? And methods! There are so many different ways to cook a cut of meat, where does one begin? After being vegetarian for 5 years, I sympathize. Becoming a meat farmer was not where I would have guessed I would be (but am ecstatic that it is), but! In order to effectively sell and believe in the meat we raise, I needed to eat it myself and know that it really was as good as I tell people it is (and trust me, it is). April was my birthday month! I was fortunate enough to celebrate my 26th with two homemade meals- one with some college friends, and another with my immediate family. It really meant a lot to me to be able to bring some of my hardwork and values to the table and nourish some of the people that I care about with some of my grass-fed beef!
